Sender Names (Sender ID)

A Sender Name (or Sender ID) is the name or number that appears on the recipient’s mobile device. Choosing the right identifier is critical for trust and delivery rates.

Types of Identifiers

Alphanumeric

Brand names (e.g., “Zeckta”). Great for one-way alerts. Not supported in all countries (e.g., USA).

Long Codes

Standard phone numbers. Required for two-way communication and support for all regions.

Registration Process

Most countries require pre-registration of alphanumeric Sender IDs to prevent phishing.
  1. Submission: Submit your desired name via the Dashboard or API.
  2. Vetting: Our compliance team reviews the request against regional carrier policies.
  3. Activation: Once approved, the ID becomes available for use in your POST /messages requests.
Using a non-registered Sender ID in restricted regions may result in immediate message filtering by local carriers.
